Finely ground oatmeal is added for gentle exfoliation to this bar but the star ingredient is our neighbourhood honey. Honey is recognised for its moisturising, antioxidant and antibacterial properties. When added to soap it also creates a creamy luxurious lather. Here at Schoolhouse Farm we love our bees, we have carefully tended hives and we create habitat so that the bees can forage locally. Make sure to breathe deeply and take in the heady blend of lemongrass, lavender and earthy patchouli essential oils.

All bars weigh approximately 150grms at the time of cutting. While soap is actually safe to use after 48 hours, to ensure the product is fit for purpose it must be cured for a minimum of 4 weeks. During this time the soap hardens as the ‘water’ content (in
our case replaced 100% with goat’s milk) reduces, loosing mass in the process. This process ensures the soap last longer. If you wish to add longevity to your soap bar there are few things you can do:
- Let is cure for an additional number of weeks (the scent will fade over this time but return when the soap is wet and being used)
- Between use keep your bar is a well-drained dry position, definitely away from steam and running water
- Use a soap dish that helps aerate your soap
- Ensure your soap dries out between use (this may mean alternating between bars)
